Notes on type, color, and the home page. The named face was Asap, but nothing loaded it, so the site fell back to Arial, including the shell blocks.
Type:
- Body:
Source Serif 4at18px, with a line-height of about1.65. That reads more calmly than20pxArialat1.4. - Code:
IBM Plex Monoforcodeandpre. - Column: about
96characters.68was too narrow for the notes and the shell blocks. - Paragraphs need a real bottom margin. They were sitting at
margin-bottom: 0. - The title should be clearly larger than the body. The page

Color. The page and the article were almost the same gray, so the column barely showed. Light mode was #cdcccc on #d3d3d3. Dark mode was #212121 on #262626. A warmer paper palette fits a notes blog better.

Underline links. The old mauve, #a66483, was the only cue, and it was weak on both backgrounds.
Command blocks should be their own block: padding, a quiet background (#f3eee6 in light, #2a2724 in dark), and the normal text color. Inline code can stay tinted, but the old blue #a6c2dd and orange #b0722c competed with the sentence around them.
Home page. Clamping each post to two lines of raw HTML cut lists and code mid-command. A title, date, and the first paragraph scan more easily.
